Connect the Garasu MCP

OAuth or an API key, with a setup for each major client.

The server is remote Streamable HTTP.

Server URL: https://garasu.co/v1/mcp

Name the server garasu.

OAuth

Paste the URL and leave the API key blank. The client opens Garasu. Sign in and allow access for your organisation.

Grok.com accepts OAuth. It rejects an MCP server that offers an API key and no OAuth.

Codex, Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, OpenCode, VS Code, and Grok Build can use OAuth when they open a browser. Garasu accepts localhost callbacks, and redirects on grok.com, claude.ai, chatgpt.com, cursor.com, and platform.openai.com.

API key

Use a key when the machine has no browser, or the client cannot finish the sign-in.

  1. Create an account if you need one.
  2. Open the app and choose API keys in the sidebar.
  3. Create a key and copy it. Treat it like a password.

Send it on every request:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

A generic JSON config, for clients that use an mcpServers map:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "garasu": {
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

Merge that into the existing mcpServers object when the file already has other servers.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings → Apps & Connectors (or Plugins).
  2. Turn on Developer mode.
  3. Create a custom connector and name it Garasu.
  4. Paste this as the MCP server URL.

Server URL:

https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. Set authentication to Bearer token. Paste the API key into that field. ChatGPT sends it as this header.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

Authorization header:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

The Bearer token is the API key. Do not paste the word Bearer into ChatGPT’s token field. 6. Create the connector, start a new chat, add Garasu from +, then list projects.

Claude

  1. Open Claude on the web or in Claude Desktop.
  2. Go to Customize → Connectors (or Settings → Connectors).
  3. Click Add custom connector.
  4. Name it Garasu and paste this as the remote MCP server URL.

Server URL:

https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. In Advanced settings, add this request header.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

Authorization header:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Claude wants this whole header in Advanced settings, including Authorization: Bearer. 6. Click Add, enable Garasu from Search and tools, then list projects.

Grok.com

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, then choose Custom.
  3. Name it Garasu and paste this as the server URL. Do not add an API key. Grok.com only accepts OAuth MCP servers.

Server URL:

https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. Click Add Connector. Grok opens Garasu. Sign in and allow access for your organisation.
  2. Start a new conversation, enable the Garasu connector, then list projects.

Grok Bots

  1. Open a conversation with your Grok Bot.
  2. Send the message below so the bot adds Garasu as a custom MCP server with Bearer auth.

Server URL:

https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. Confirm when the bot asks. If it still needs a key, give it the Authorization header.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

Authorization header:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

If the bot asks for a header, paste this whole line. 4. Type @ in chat, attach Garasu, then list projects.

Prompt:

Add a custom MCP server called Garasu at https://garasu.co/v1/mcp with header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Codex

  1. Open ~/.codex/config.toml. In the Codex IDE extension, use the gear menu, then MCP settings, then Open config.toml. The CLI reads the same file.
  2. For OAuth, add this table. The first tool call opens a browser. Sign in to Garasu and allow your organisation.

OAuth config:

[mcp_servers.garasu]
url = "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp"
  1. For an API key, put the key in GARASU_API_KEY and point Codex at that variable. Codex sends it as Authorization: Bearer.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key config:

[mcp_servers.garasu]
url = "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "GARASU_API_KEY"
  1. In the Codex TUI, run /mcp and confirm garasu is listed. Then ask Codex to list your Garasu projects.

Claude Code

  1. Add the remote server from a terminal. Leave the header off to sign in with OAuth.

OAuth:

claude mcp add --transport http garasu https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. On a machine with no browser, pass the API key as a header.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key:

claude mcp add --transport http garasu https://garasu.co/v1/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
  1. Run /mcp inside Claude Code, enable garasu, then ask it to list projects.

Grok Build

  1. From a terminal, add Garasu over HTTP. The first call can open a browser for OAuth.

OAuth:

grok mcp add --transport http garasu https://garasu.co/v1/mcp
  1. On a headless machine, send the API key as a header instead.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key:

grok mcp add --transport http garasu https://garasu.co/v1/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
  1. Ask Grok Build to call list_projects, then list_learnings for the project you care about.

OpenCode

  1. Edit opencode.json in the project, or ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json if you want it on every project.
  2. For OAuth, add the server with no headers. OpenCode opens a browser the first time a tool runs.

OAuth config:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "garasu": {
      "enabled": true,
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. For an API key, turn OAuth off and send the Bearer header. Otherwise OpenCode tries the browser flow and ignores the key.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key config:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "garasu": {
      "enabled": true,
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp",
      "oauth": false,
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Restart OpenCode, then ask it to list Garasu projects.

Cursor

  1. Open Cursor Settings, then MCP, or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
  2. For OAuth, add the URL and leave headers out. Cursor opens Garasu so you can sign in.

OAuth config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "garasu": {
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. For an API key, add the Authorization header.

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "garasu": {
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Restart Cursor. In a new agent chat, ask it to list your Garasu projects.

VS Code

  1. Create .vscode/mcp.json in the project.
  2. Add Garasu as an HTTP server. Omit headers to use OAuth. Add the header when you want an API key.

OAuth config:

{
  "servers": {
    "garasu": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp"
    }
  }
}

API key:

YOUR_API_KEY

API key config:

{
  "servers": {
    "garasu": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://garasu.co/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Reload the window. In Copilot chat, enable the garasu tools, then list projects.
